World Film Collective

World Film Collective workshops  last 50 hours, during which time the young people learn the filmmaking process from beginning to end.

By the end of the first workshop, participants are able to direct, produce, storyboard, shoot and edit their own short film using mobile phones. Participants create a repertoire of short films which are then uploaded online to create a platform for cultural exchange between youth in five continents.

In November 2009, World Film Collective began a Level 2 documentary filmmaking workshop in East London that will run through March 2010.

South Africa

After a successful pilot Level 1 Fictional Shorts workshop in August 2009, WFC will be teaming up with the Amy Biehl Foundation to deliver a Level 2 Documentary workshop in March 2010.
