World Film Collective workshops last 50 hours, during which time the young people learn the filmmaking process from beginning to end.
By the end of the first workshop, participants are able to direct, produce, storyboard, shoot and edit their own short film using mobile phones. Participants create a repertoire of short films which are then uploaded online to create a platform for cultural exchange between youth in five continents.
This video shows the progress of World Film Collective over the last 18 months in local reporting and community development with the focus on South Africa.
